It's been quite some time since I last wrote a post. But I'm back and in full swing. :-)
Savannah and Max are both doing great! I have been working on getting both horses back into shape after having some time off. Lots of plans ahead for both of them!!
Who knew liberty could be so fun!! Liberty has always been a tough spot for Savannah and I.. Savannah often struggled with being unconfident when there was no one holding her hand.. the halter would come off and it felt like I had nothing with her. So frustrating for me! All the way through when I graduated Level 3 and always feeling like I never had her wanting to be with me. Her choice was still to leave.. wanting to go near the other horses, eat some grass, or just leave and run away. I would ask her something.. disengage her HQ, circle, jump and she would just leave. You can imagine how frustrating it was! And only being able to have circles in a round pen. Yup, this is how it used to be...
Our relationship has definitely changed dramatically. It's been a dream of mine to be able to play at liberty and have fun.. and anywhere possible with no fences. Well it's starting to come true! Who knew that dreams do come true!! Savannah WANTS to be with me all the time! What a feeling when your horse wants to be with you! Our liberty has changed so much... circles at walk, trot, and canter with no fences, even out in hundreds of acres.. she's with me! Canters from across the arena to me with exuberance!! My scared delicate flower is now blooming, showing everyone what kind of horse she really is! I'm so lucky to have a horse like her who has taught ME so much!
The possibilities are endless.. just using your imagination and it can happen. Sure, it can take some hard work but man is it worth it! So reach for the stars, have fun, and dream.. dream BIG!
Naturally,
Sarah
