Welcome to my blog where I can share my journey with you! I am a Licensed Parelli Professional Two Star Junior Instructor. Here you can read about my experiences with Parelli Natural Horsemanship, my personal horsemanship journey, and my journey with being a Parelli Instructor. I hope to inspire and empower you with my quest for never ending self improvement. I have been studying Parelli for 11 years and am an official Level 3 graduate. I am studying Level 4 with my two horses, Max and Savannah. I grew up riding horses the traditional way and was in the United States Pony Club for 12 years, where I competed in Eventing and Dressage. My first introduction to Parelli was with my pony, who at the time was not a problem horse. I've had my andalusian mare, Savannah for 7 years now and after 2 years of struggling with her while not using Parelli methods, I knew I had to change something. I have been doing Parelli with her for the past 5 years and graduated Level 3 with her fall 2010. In the Spring of 2010 I received Max from Kelly Sigler. I owe it to my two amazing horses, as I would not be where I am now without them, they are my greatest teachers. The journey so far with Parelli has been fun, fulfilling, challenging, and life changing.

I'm Back!!

Finally back to my blog! Been a long time since I've posted anything here. The externship was INCREDIBLE!! After I finished up at Parelli I went to assist Kelly Sigler for 3 weeks and study with her. I had an awesome time and was able to improve in my own horsemanship and peoplemanship.

I've been home now for 2 1/2 weeks. It's been great to finally have a break and let all my thoughts settle in my head... still so much to think about from the externship!! Savannah and Max are both doing amazing! Max has been getting some time taking it easy after working hard for 3 months, he's enjoying that he can just be a horse and not be under any pressure. Savannah is now my main focus.. I've decided that the relationship and communication we have is SO far advanced from Max that she must come back with me to Florida in the fall. I've been finishing up level 4 Liberty and Freestyle tasks with her, hopefully we can send those two savvies in to Parelli within the next month or so :-) My focus with her has also changed to western performance which she is excelling at, rather than trying to make her be a dressage horse. She's doing fantastic!! Can't believe the progress she is making! Today we had our first real slide stops.. thanks to somewhat slick grass/dirt. Very cool!

I'm currently over half way done with my teaching hours!! YEEEHAHHH! There has been a great amount of interest which is awesome!

  2. Love following your progress Sarah but especially your Savannah who reminds me much of my on PRE filly. Good for you being willing to change riding styles for her!
