Welcome to my blog where I can share my journey with you! I am a Licensed Parelli Professional Two Star Junior Instructor. Here you can read about my experiences with Parelli Natural Horsemanship, my personal horsemanship journey, and my journey with being a Parelli Instructor. I hope to inspire and empower you with my quest for never ending self improvement. I have been studying Parelli for 11 years and am an official Level 3 graduate. I am studying Level 4 with my two horses, Max and Savannah. I grew up riding horses the traditional way and was in the United States Pony Club for 12 years, where I competed in Eventing and Dressage. My first introduction to Parelli was with my pony, who at the time was not a problem horse. I've had my andalusian mare, Savannah for 7 years now and after 2 years of struggling with her while not using Parelli methods, I knew I had to change something. I have been doing Parelli with her for the past 5 years and graduated Level 3 with her fall 2010. In the Spring of 2010 I received Max from Kelly Sigler. I owe it to my two amazing horses, as I would not be where I am now without them, they are my greatest teachers. The journey so far with Parelli has been fun, fulfilling, challenging, and life changing.

Day 2 of Instructor Course

Started the day off early today. Met with Berin and the externs at 7 am. Then at 730 we played touch rugby as the one star group was arriving. Berin then had us tack up our horses and play to get ready to ride. We rode for about an hour, working on follow the rail and trying to gain relaxation. He introduced us to using partial disengagement for relaxation. Savannah hurt her leg this weekend, so she is getting a break to recover. I rode Max today in the session and he was great! Can't wait to keep advancing with him and see where he goes! Very exciting to see how he does in the extern program and what progress we will make. It was a huge relief to be on a left brain horse today!!

After our horsemanship time, we took a Policy test. Linda then did a discussion on "The Question is Not the Question". It was extremely information about how to address questions that students will ask their instructors. We also did some role playing that helped us develop our skills.

Pat talked after lunch about the Professional Program and where he hopes it will go. It was very inspiring to here Pat talk about the professional program and what lies ahead. Ann Kiser ended the day discussing the ins and outs of the Auxiliary Pathway for instructors and the Mastery Program.

I rode Max for a second time today. Rode this evening under the lights working on his impulsion and follow the rail. He already had improved since this morning. Used a lot of partial disengagement and backing up to help teach him to go slow. Of course he was awesome!
